                          The Emperor of the North
                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               A NACV Harpoon Scenario edited by Steve Barker
               ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the Bio-wars following The Warming, Earth had sleepily
carried on in peace and semi-poverty, enduring The Great Recovery. The
human population remaining on the planet had been divided by the Atlantic.
Only lately had military weapon production achieved that available in the
 late 20th century.

Now, after 300 years, the Emperor Che IV, having established his
capitol at Cheburg on Air Force Island, formed the Hudson Bay Triad. Che
became aware of the threat arising in the East. The Belfast-Paris
Alliance had succombed to the Israeli-Arab Redneck Democracies and
Redneck President Yassir Ben-Amos had given Che an ultimatum:

"Turn over the Antique Chevrolet collection or else."

Needless to say, this did not go down very well, in Cheburg.

The Rednecks had been steadily advancing westward establishing
settlements at Julianehab, and now, a Kibbutz at Stephenville Crossing just
across from the Triad's Cape Breton Island City of New Norfolk. There were
reports of Redneck Top Gun Flankers over the Cabot Strait and Fulcrums
loaded with ASMs. A Redneck CVG was reported off Cape Farvel.

You were not surprised, therefore, when your vacation was
interupted in Bermuda and an urgent summons was received from Cheburg. You
re-read the dispatch from your beloved Emperor for the fourth time:

YOU ARE TO PROCEED TO CHEBURG AT ONCE WITH THE T-BIRD PILOTS
VACATIONING WITH YOU IN BERMUDA. STOP.

YOU ARE TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE FORCES AT NEW NORFOLK, REPEL ANY
ATTEMPTED INVASION ACROSS THE CABOT STRAIT AND DESTROY THE BASE
      AT STEPHENVILLE CROSSING. STOP

YOU ARE TO USE THE STARLIFTERS STATIONED NEAR CHESTERFIELD
INLET TO BRING CHE'S ANTIQUE CHEVY COLLECTION FROM BERMUDA TO
CHEBURG. THEN LOAD UP SUPPLIES AND AIRLIFT THEM TO THE SECRET
BASE IN LONDON TO SUPPORT THE LANDING. STOP

YOU ARE TO FORM A INVASION FORCE AND LAND THE AIRBOURNE MARINES AT
PARIS USING IN THE AB-212ASW HELO GROUP STATIONED ABOARD THE
TARAWA SHIP NASSAU. THE LANDING FORCE MUST GAIN A BEACHHEAD ON THE
FROG COAST AT LE HARVE. SECURE BEN-AMOS' 1957 IMPALA. STOP.

SAIPAN, SEA-LAND-MARKET AND SEATTLE MUST BE ON STATION TO DISGORGE
      TROOPS, ARMOR AND SUPPLIES. STOP.

CHEBURG MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS. STOP.

KILL AS MANY OF THE BASTARDS AS YOU CAN. STOP.

                 YOUR BELOVED EMPEROR

                     CHE

The tasks were daunting, but you knew with a little luck and a
Forrestal carrier group, there should be no problem. Not to mention the
twelve F14 Tomcat fighters with you at the Bermuda base. You guessed you
better hustle up there and take charge. You smiled at the thought of the
French women awaiting your arrival in Le Havre and noted you were only
 outnumbered 6 to 1.

 Notes:
 ==============================================================
The Emperor of the North is in three parts.

Part I requires Che Amphibious elements be on station just south of
Cape Farvel to a distance of about 300 nm. Cape Farvel is the southern most
tip of Greenland (for those who lack Atlases). About 3 days.

Part II requires crossing the Atlantic from Cape Farvel to a large
rectangle west of Cape Clear, Ireland. A little over 2 days.

Part III requires the same elements be on station in a smaller
rectangle near Le Havre (Orland). In addition an airborne helicopter group
must be on station near Paris (Kildistenroy). The helo group is stationed
 aboard the Nassau. 32 Hours.

In Parts II and III the air units are those remaining when I managed
to play through to Total Victory the first time (except for the air units
stationed in St. Johns base near Chesterfield Inlet in Part II. These were
added to offset the additional groups which were added to the Redneck forces
during final revisions to Part II). Land based Planes were deleted in Part
III to save memory handles. For those interested, I lost 100 planes in
Part I, 92 Planes in Part II plus 3 ships. I have yet to finish Part III.

The scenarios are made to be played from the blue side only. The
 victory conditions are as follows:

REDNECK MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 1: I
1 Norfolk base must be killed. (New Norfolk)
REDNECK MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 1: II
1 Brunswick base must be killed.
REDNECK MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 1: III
1 London base must be killed.
REDNECK MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 2: I II III
1 Tarawa ship must be killed.
REDNECK MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 3: I II
1 Cheburg base must be damaged at 10%.

REDNECK TOTAL VICTORY CONDITION (AND) 1: I II III

CHEEZER MINIMUM VICTORY CONDITION (OR) 2: I II
5 C-141B StarLifter planes must be on station for 1 min.(note: There is
a small rectangle somewhere between Bermuda and Cheburg. Fly the planes
to Bermuda and then to Cheburg and you should hit it. Get them from
Cheburg to London in Part II.)

CHEEZER TOTAL VICTORY CONDITION (AND) 1:: I
1 Keflavik base must be killed. (Stehenville Crossing)
CHEEZER TOTAL VICTORY CONDITION (AND) 2: I II III

6 AB-212ASW helos must be on station for 1 min. (Paris/Kildistenroy)

I would not recommend playing this senario under Desqview. I have had
trouble with the save files. I would like to know what you think about
this scenario. Is it too hard? Too easy? What would you add or take away?
